Man escapes injury after ‘petrol bombing’ of Antrim flat

A man has escaped injury following a reported attempted petrol bombing of a first-floor flat in Antrim.

Police said they received a report that the window of the living room in the flat was damaged during the incident in the Kilgreel Road area overnight.

A spokesperson said: “Some time between midnight and 7.10am, it was reported that the outer window pane of a first-floor flat living room window was damaged. It is not believed that the bottle ignited during the incident, and has been taken away for further forensic examinations.

“A man in his 30s was inside the property but was not injured during the incident.”

Police have made an appeal for information, asking anyone who can assist to contact detectives on 101, quoting reference number 354 06/09/24.
