Two people injured in two-car collision in Tullamore

IT is believed that minor injuries were sustained by two people in the vehicles which crashed earlier this evening (Thursday, February 10) in Tullamore.

Local reports indicated that attendance at nearby Tullamore Hospital was required, but there were no indications significant medical intervention was needed.

The collision occurred at the crossroads of the Arden Road and Collins Lane close to the traffic lights at Scally's Centra.

The vehicles which collided were a Ford Focus and a Volkswagen Passat and a number of gardaí were at the scene interviewing witnesses and directing other traffic.

There was damage to the front of both cars, with the Volkswagen worst affected by the impact.

Both cars were removed by about 9pm.
