Voice of Tullamore Show remembered as 'stylish and elegant'

The Voice of the Tullamore Show and FBD National Livestock Show, the late Carrie Acheson, is remembered as elegant and stylish

The Tipperary woman, a former Fianna Fáil TD and councillor, passed away on Monday.

In a post on their website, Tullamore Show said: “The Tullamore Show & FBD National Livestock Show is shocked and saddened by the devastating news of the death of Carrie Acheson

“Carrie was the voice of our Show, her elegance, style and infectious voice will never be forgotten

“Goodbye for now, our dearest friend.”

Assistant Managing Director of the National Ploughing Association, Anna Marie McHugh, says she could never be forgotten.

She had been the voice of the Ploughing for over three decades.

She is survived by her son Brian and daughter-in-law Carmel.

Deceased will be laid to rest on Thursday afternoon in St. Mary's Church, Irishtown.
