Music PR consultant Anthony Sullivan
Offaly based music PR consultant Anthony Sullivan has been nominated in the Professional Promotion Company of the Year category at this year's Fair Play Country Music Awards in Holland.
The Lusmagh man, who formed his AS Written agency in 2018, also sees three of his current clients nominated in various categories, with singer/songwriter Larissa Tormey, country/pop artist Donie O, and traditional country star Norman Borland all in the running to take home one of the prestigious FPCM awards.
Among Larissa Tormey's thirteen nominations are two for her original Christmas single, In The Glow Of A Winter's Eve, which was a co-write with Sullivan. The song earned Tormey (a four-time FPCM award winner) nods in both the Best Christmas Original Song by a Female Artist, and Best Voice in All Genres by a Female Artist categories.
Sullivan won a Hot Country Award for his Outstanding Contribution to Irish Country Music in 2022, thanks to both his work in the PR and consultancy fields, and for his support of Irish country artists through his long-running On The Right TRAX music and entertainment column.
His OTRT column has also seen him interview stars and celebrities like Imelda May, Chris Shiflett of Foo Fighters, Kiesza, Louis Walsh, Keith Barry, Neil Delamere, Tommy Tiernan, and many more. He was one of the Irish music writers invited to join Garth Brooks at his final press conference, just before the country music icon took to the Croke Park stage for the fifth and last time during his historic run of concerts at GAA headquarters last September.
A poet (recipient of a Poetry Ireland bursary in 2021) as well as a songwriter, Sullivan has published two collections of his work to date, 2004's Under Star And Under Sun, and 2009's Pilgrim In The Heartland which featured a Foreward from Eurovision legend Charlie McGettigan. Sullivan's third collection is expected later this year.
The Fair Play Country Music Awards take place in Holland in August.
