Two Ferbane AC stalwarts, Mick Fogarty and Jackie Kelly made the trip to the Capital on Sunday 29th January to compete in the AXA Raheny 5 Mile Road Race. The 3pm start facilitated the huge number of entrants who travelled to Dublin with 3,871 runners finishing. This race continues to attract the very best athletes from across the Country and competition is fierce from start to finish.

Mick continues to set a high bar for himself finishing in 20th position in a time of 25:29. Early season form seems to suggest another successful year ahead for him. In the women’s race Jackie Kelly ran a hugely impressive 35.01. On this evidence, Jackie too, will be a force to be reckoned with this year. Well done to both!

In other news, the club were delighted to present the proceeds of the St. Stephen’s Day Charity Mile of €665.00 to Gallen Community School’s Cluny Centre on 12th January. Gallen Community School have always been a great support to us and we are very grateful for being permitted to use their facilities, throughout the year.
