RHODE GAA Club have been given the go ahead by the Offaly GAA County Board to borrow money for the purchase of seven additional acres of land at their playing grounds.
Clubs must receive County Board approval to borrow money up to €75,000 (Leinster Council and then Central Council have to approve amounts higher than that) and Rhode's application to get €44,000 of the €55,000 price was sanctioned at a County Board meeting on Tuesday night.
Secretary Colm Cummins said the Management Committee had looked at their plans and were satisfied they could meet the repayments.
Meanwhile Bracknagh GAA were given permission to lease a small portion of their land for a telecommunications mast. The lease will be for thirty years and Mr Cummins said it was an opportunity for the club to make money.
