Upcycling Class
Recently the AFR group held an Upcycling Class in cooperation with Tipperary ETB Tutor Orla McDonagh. The class was very productive with lots of imaginative ideas for old clothes and material emerging. They made soft toys, cushions, childrens and adult aprons and chair covers. Some of these items have been made with clothes that have a sentimental value and will be treasured by the person who made them.
Age Friendly Businesses
Recently the group also held their Age Friendly Business Recognition Programme Training. The training was delivered by Communications and Business Coach, Orlaith Carmody, on behalf of Age Friendly Ireland.
The businesses and services benefitted from information on how their business can be inclusive and equitable for all shoppers but in particular for that older population who are loyal and regular shoppers and users of services.
