Fantastic competition and participation at Offaly Track and Field juvenile championships

On Sunday last almost 200 young athletes from Ballyskenach, Birr, Edenderry, Ferbane and Tullamore gathered in Tullamore Harriers Stadium to take part in a very busy programme of events for the annual Offaly Track and Field competition. This competition is growing every year. The young athletes showed wonderful promise and talent in events such as the Long jump, turbo javelin, shot putt and sprints and longer distance running. All of the children were very well coached and participated in every event with enthusiasm, energy and fun. Even the torrential showers didn’t dampen their spirits. Thank you to all the volunteers from the clubs for their help, the Civil Defence and to Tullamore Harriers for the use of their fantastic facilities. The next date for the diary of the Offaly Juveniles is the Four Counties competition in Tullamore on May 19th at 6.00 p.m.
