Roscrea Library celebrates Bealtaine with packed calendar of events

Bealtaine fires cleared the way for new growth

The Annual Bealtaine Festival, which celebrates creativity as we age takes place in May each year.
This year, Roscrea Library is holding a number of events in the Library. All Events are Free of charge. Booking is required for most events as space is limited.

Tuesday 9th May @ 11am: All Things Gardening for Summer with Ultan Nesbitt, horticulturist with Centenary Home and Garden. Ultan will be sharing tips on planting, creating hanging baskets and getting your garden summer ready. Booking is essential.

Wednesday 10th May @ 6.30pm: Sport in Victorian Tipperary with author and Librarian Dr Pat Bracken. An illustrated talk on the growth and development of sport in Tipperary, based on contemporary reports in the local press.

Thursday 11th May @ 2pm: Arts and crafts workshop with Olivia O’Donovan from Tipperary ETB. This is an introduction to lino, felting and papermaking and will guide you through step by step instructions to starting a simple craft. Booking is essential.

Wednesday 17th May @ 3.30pm: Chair Yoga with Suzanne Delahunt. Join Suzanne to discover the benefits of chair yoga, including increased flexibility and muscle strength. Booking is essential.

Thursday 18th May @ 12.30pm: Introduction to Breathwork and Mindfulness Meditation with Mia Magan from Tipperary ETB. Take some time out to learn how to reduce worry and stress and promote relaxation. Booking is essential.

Tuesday 23rd May @ 10.30am: Contemporary Collage with Melissa Ryan. During this workshop you can explore the world of mixed collage. Booking is essential.

Wednesday 24th May @ 6.30pm: Traditional Irish Music with Roscrea Branch of Comhaltas Ceolteoiri Eireann. Come along and enjoy a few tunes from this local group.

Friday 26th May @ 10.30am: Weaving Workshop with Lynn Kirkham. Come along and learn some weaving techniques and develop your own individual piece. Booking is essential.
