Prestigious 'Equality for All' award for Offaly school

Pupils from Gortnamona NS has won a major award

A sock puppet play about the importance of gender equality created by 5th  and 6th  Class pupils from Gortnamona National School has won this year’s Equality for All Award at the recent Our World Irish Aid Awards. 

The announcement was made at an event at O’Reilly Hall, UCD which saw pupils and teachers from 13 schools across the country gathered to celebrate their collective success at a ceremony hosted by Clara Murray. 

The project from Gortnamona National School, along with those created by the 12 other finalists, feature on a host of bus shelters across the country, as well as in a special online exhibition on the Our World Irish Aid Awards website  www.ourworldirishaidawards.ie, and in the 2023 Global Goal Getters annual digital magazine also available online.
