Search for man missing in the Midlands stood down after remains found
Gardai have announced the ending of a search for a Kildare man after the discovery of remains in Portlaoise.
Garda HQ issued a statement on Thursday night, July 20.
"Following the discovery of a body in Portlaoise, Co. Laois this morning Thursday 20th July, 2023 the missing person appeal for Gavin Rowan has been stood down.
"An Garda Síochána would like to thank the media and the public for their assistance.
"No further media action is required and no further information is available at this time," they said.
Mr Rowan went missing earlier in July The last trace of the deceased was the discovery of his car near a wooded area between Emo and Ballybrittas.
