Offaly ladies footballers seek new team management

Danny McGarvey and Brian O'Ruairc

OFFALY intermediate ladies footballers will be seeking new management for the 2024 season. The Offaly Ladies Football County Board announced on Monday evening that the outgoing joint managers, Danny McGarvey and Brian O'Ruaircc would not be going forward for a third season.

McGarvey, a Doinegal man living and teaching in Kildare and O'Ruairc,a doctor from the Cuala club in Dublin, had made steady progress during their two seasons in charge.

Appointed in late 2021, they led Offaly to success in Division 4 of the National League in 2022. This year, Offaly retained their status in both Division 3 and the intermediate championship.

The County Board thanked the duo for their work and for keeping Offaly in their grades in 2023.

The process of appointing new management will now begin as they speak to potential candidates. Ideally, they will be hoping to line someone up fairly soon to give them an opportunity to look at the concluding stages of the Offaly club championships.
