Lusmagh/Drumcullen Camogie celebrate victory in Intermediate Championship Final

Lusmagh/Drumcullen panel and management after their victory in the intermediate camogie final.

The Intermediate Championship final was a separate competition to the cup the Lusmagh/Drumcullen girls had already won a few weeks ago. This competition was to gain promotion to Senior camogie for 2024. Ourselves and Kinnitty were the only teams eligible from the cup competition to play in this.

The first fifteen minutes was tough and physical but once we got ourselves going our forwards were taking some super scores. We led at half time 4-9 to 1-2.

The girls began the second half with a flourish of scores and with some super work at midfield the ball remained in our scoring end for most of the half. Any play that came into our back line and goalie in the second half was dealt with superbly. We ran out comfortable winners on a scoreline of 6-15 to 1-4. The girls have now secured senior status for 2024.

The Mary Murray cup was presented to captains Rebecca McGarry & Kaitlyn Kennedy by her son Declan. This was a very special moment for our captains to receive this cup as Mary was one of the founding members of our club and she gave so much of her time to us all.

Well done to Leah Gath who picked up the player of the match award. The club would like to thank all the players and our management team for their dedication and hard work all year. We are all very proud of your achievements this year.

U-15 B Semi Final

Our U-15s took to the field on Saturday evening against Birr in their semi final. The first half started with some great camogie being played. With some very accurate free taking and great points from play, our girls led at half time 0-9 to 0-3. The second half started as we finished the first with the scores ticking over and some super defensive play in our back line. The girls ran out comfortable winners on a scoreline of 3-13 to 0-4. This was a very good team performance and the girls will now play St Rynagh's in two weeks in the final. Hard luck to Birr.
