10 – Right half forward: Cormac Egan (Tullamore)
It says a lot about Tullamore's strengths that they have so many on this team from midfield back but only one forward is making it. That is also a sign of the quality of forwards in other clubs. Tullamore are the first to acknowledge that they don't have the same deadly forwards that some other clubs have but it is not fatal for them as they have so many players who can score. Cormac Egan's return from a hamstring injury was instrumental in them winning the championship.

He came on as a half time sub in the win over Clara and contributed significantly after that. Even in games where he wasn't overly prominent, he worked hard and was tightly marked by defenders, often double teamed - he was never left alone and this opened up space for other forwards. He got better as the year went on, was very hungry and played well in the final against Ferbane. Ferbane's David Nally was very close to selection. It didn't happen for him in the final but he was not the only Ferbane man to experience that fate and he had played very well in most of the other games.
