14 – Full forward: Cian Farrell (Edenderry)

Cian Farrell was brilliant for Edenderry, the single biggest reason in them going so close to making the final. Back from a cruciate injury, his form in the club championship suggests that he can regain his earlier level. He was clearly fired up and very highly motivated and he performed in a serious way.

Scoring regularly all year, he was the main reason they survived in the quarter-final against Durrow and he was man of the match in the semi-final loss to Tullamore. This team could not be picked without him. In a different year, Tullamore's Luke Plunkett would make it and he did well, scoring the all important goal in the final, but the quality of options for the whole full forward line means that he loses out.
