4 – Left corner back: Patrick Taaffe (Ferbane)
Patrick Taaffe did very well in the Ferbane defence and just edges out Paul McConway. Taaffe did his primary defensive duties well but also attacked well and brought a lot to the table for Ferbane. Very much in the winter of his career, Paul McConway never put a foot wrong for Tullamore. He may not be able to get up the field as he once did but he knows that and showed his experience by not even attempting it. A mister dependable for Tullamore. Bracknagh's David Costello was a serious consideration here. He was outstanding for Bracknagh in the group but emigrated ahead of the quarter-final and could not be picked as a result of missing that game.
