Councillor MIchael O Meara (Independent) is pictured in Rathcabbin village where major drainage works commenced last week.

Cllr O’Meara has welcomed the start of the drainage work in the Village saying “I have been calling for this necessary work to commence before the winter as Rathcabbin Village has a problem with storm water in the centre of the village.

“This work should alleviate the flow of water down the road which ponds at the church and local shop. The drainage work will continue up to Ballyoughter where we have already laid new footpaths in the estate and next year the road will be resurfaced with tarmac.

“This work is being carried out by Tipperary County Council under our village enhancement and active travel programme,” said Cllr Michael O Meara.
