Members of Kinnitty Players celebrate after their recent successful production.
THE Kinnitty Players, in their second consecutive year, hit the spotlight with a bang as they staged the uproarious comedy 'Through the Chair' by Billy Canning.
The Kinnitty Community Centre served as the backdrop for this entertaining spectacle, leaving the audience in stitches and earning the production a well-deserved standing ovation after each of the three performances.
Billy Canning's comedic masterpiece had the Kinnitty crowd in fits of laughter, with attendees expressing that it was a laugh-out-loud experience unlike any they've had in years. The talented cast members brought the characters to life with exceptional performances, capturing the hearts of the audience and keeping them engaged from the opening act to the final bow.
The storyline revolves around the trials and tribulations of the local Mahers Bar Lotto Syndicate as they chase success not only in the lotto draw but also in matters of the heart. As the plot unfolds, it becomes evident that love and lotto balls don't always play fair, adding an extra layer of hilarity to the production.
The success of the event was not only due to the stellar performances but also the tireless efforts of the community and the dedicated individuals behind the scenes. A heartfelt thank you goes out to Paul Spencer, their Director, Robert O'Donnell, Padraig Dooley, and Lorraine Delaney for their outstanding set design and construction, Majella Bergin for the lively MC-ing, Sean de Cleir for capturing the moments through videography and photography, Vicky Holland and Eilish Fay for ensuring they had continuity, Emer Dunne for making them presentable with hair and make up and the various others who contributed to make the production seamless.
The support extended beyond the stage, with local groups like Kinnitty Athletics Club, Kinnitty NS Parents Association, and Jiglets Music actively participating in the event's success. These groups organised separate nights for a raffle, contributing to the overall sense of community spirit and fundraising for their respective causes.
Looking ahead, the Kinnitty Players express their gratitude to everyone who attended and supported the production. The overwhelming community support, from the audience to the volunteers and local groups, has set a vibrant tone for future endeavours.
With eyes already set on 2024, the Kinnitty Players anticipate another year of theatrical brilliance, and they extend a massive thank you to all who made this year's production an unforgettable success. Your presence and support are truly cherished.
