Michael Dennedy, 14, lost his leg but has not let it define him
To lose a leg is a setback that would test the strength of anyone, let alone a young teenager.
Now, in a display of resilience, a courageous 14-year-old from Kinnitty, has been actively participating in football training despite facing the accident only months ago.
Michael Dennedy refuses to let the accident define him, as he remains full of hope and dreams for the future. Despite the physical and emotional hurdles, the young man is determined to be as independent as possible, embracing life to the fullest, and getting back to his hobbies.
In a show of solidarity and support, the community rallied behind Michael by creating a Facebook page titled We're Doing It For Dennedy. The page has become a hub for well-wishers, friends, and family to share messages of encouragement, inspiration, and updates on Michael's journey.
The outpouring of support has also extended beyond heartfelt messages. Over €25,000 has been raised through various fundraising efforts to aid Michael in his recovery.
Highlighting the community's commitment to supporting Michael, the Kinnitty local GAA Lotto draw on January 2 will contribute to the cause.
The funds generated from this event will add to the substantial amount already raised.
