THERE were festive scenes in two picturesque villages in the foothills of the Slieve Bloom mountains on Wednesday, December 20th, as Santa and his elves made visits to Tír na nóg Playschool Clonaslee and Kinnitty Toddler Group.
Armed with good cheer, presents and his trusty helpers by his side, Santa had a wonderful time meeting the boys and girls. Ahead of his "big trip" on Christmas Eve, he decided to take a break from flying and travelled via High Nelly with a specially modified sleigh.
Those in attendance were treated to a warm welcome, with delicious refreshments and thoughtful gifts on display. One lady present described the morning as "magical," while parents noted their little ones had a "brilliant" and "memorable" time. The boys and girls "loved" meeting Santa.
Kinnitty Toddler Group said: "We had such a great morning for our Christmas party. Thank you to Clonaslee High Nelly Club for doing the honour of helping Santa arrive to see all the boys and girls of Kinnitty Toddler Group. Thanks to Megan for making lovely sandwiches. Katarzyna for making beautiful cake and Betty for bringing biscuits and sweets."
Tír na nóg Playschool Clonaslee added: "What a lovely Christmas celebration this morning with everyone. Thank you so much to all who attended and made it such a success."
Clonaslee High Nelly Club said: "We were privileged to participate in Santa's special visit to Clonaslee and Kinnitty for the second consecutive year. The greatest joy at this time of year is seeing the smiles on the faces of the amazing children we met. Santa and his helpers enjoyed visiting immensely. It was lovely to spend time with parents and the wonderful teams who make Tír na nóg and Kinnitty Toddler Group such nurturing places filled with happiness".
The club added, "We would like to take this opportunity to thank all who supported the club throughout the year and wish everyone a very Merry Christmas as we excitedly look ahead to 2024."
