Offaly pub hilariously hits back at Dry January with Barmens' Lives Matter clip
One Offaly pub has hit back at Dry January with thousands of people starting the New Year with their annual abstinence from the booze after a Christmas splurge.
JJ Houghs, famous for their clever Christmas adverts, are now putting the proverbial two fingers up to Dry January and laying on a weekend of live music to wet peoples' whistles.
The pub posted a clip of their barman in an empty pub with sad music playing, poking fun at the tradition of people going off the drink in January.
He sweeps the floor, scans all the empty seats and even has a melancholic look out the window to see if there are any punters on the way. Their clever hashtag is #BarmensLivesMatter
The lonely barman may be far busier come this weekend, January or not, as JJ Houghs offers up a trio of live musicians.
The Dooley Brothers play Friday night, Swipe Right are on Saturday while Ruan and Mike will entertain Sunday night drinkers.
