Roscrea Civil War executions commemoration planned

The annual commemoration marking the execution of four volunteers, Frederick Burke, Martin O'Shea, Patrick Russell, and Patrick McNamara by Free State forces in the grounds of Roscrea Castle in January 1923, will be held in Roscrea on January 28 at 2pm.

The march for the event through Roscrea will assemble at the old Tesco car park on Lourdes Road in Roscrea town centre..

Mairead Farrell, TD for Galway West will give the main oration and all are welcome to attend the commemoration event on Castle Street.
