Large Offaly GAA club planning towards 2030

Edenderry GAA Club have organised a planning workshop for Thursday, February 1 in their pavilion at 7.30pm.

As a rapidly growing club serving the community of Edenderry, thee club has always planned for the future. The successful delivery of Club Development Plans prepared in 2010 and 2017 have served the club very well and as we enter 2024, the club is embarking on a fresh process to prepare a plan that will serve the club toward the next decade.

With the increasingly popularity of all Gaelic Games in Edenderry, it is critically important that they plan appropriately to ensure they are well positioned to provide the best possible participation experience to all our existing and future members. Edenderry GAA are well advanced in the development of the One Club Model, whereby they have successfully incorporated the GAA, Ladies Football and Camogie Clubs into one organisation. The transition to ‘One Club’ has rapidly enlarged the organisation and brought many challenges.

However, the club believe, the preparation of an inclusive Club Plan for the future, provides an opportunity to successfully deal with the challenges and also strengthen the vibrancy of Gaelic Games in their Community. They require the assistance and input from the wider community. An integral element of the plan preparation involves significant community consultation.

The club are extending an open invitation to the wider community to the upcoming workshop event on Thursday 1st February next. The workshop will be 90 minutes in duration and will provide attendees with an opportunity to influence the strategy of the club. Interested persons can log onto www.edenderrygaa.com for more information. They are also hosting a Youth Workshop on Saturday 3rd February for younger members of the community.
