RIP: 'Everyone's friend' - Tributes flood in after sudden death of beloved Offaly man

Tributes have been paid to the late Christopher Egan who died unexpectedly at home in Clara late last week.

Christopher is pre-deceased by his partner Edith, his father Christopher and infant sister Bernadette.

His RIP.ie death notice says he will be "sadly missed by his loving children Christopher, Eric and Saoirse, his mother Carmel, brothers Michael, Martin, Brendan and Joseph, sisters Fran, Bernadette, Sylvia, Georgina and Valerie, brothers in law, sisters in law, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends."

Tributes have been paid with one friend saying: "Sincere condolences to Christy's mother and his children and to all his brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews, uncles and aunts, cousins and to all his friends of which he had many.

"You were everyone's friend Christy and a gentleman. I hope you find peace now back with Edith and family again. Rest in peace, my friend."

Another tribute read: "It certainly won't be the same without you. Christy, you were one of a kind. Back with your Dad and Edith. Rest in peace, my friend, you won't be forgotten."

Funeral Arrangements

Reposing at O'Reilly's Funeral Home, Harbour Street, Tullamore (R35 FC84), on Tuesday from 4.30pm until Removal at 6.15pm to St. Brigid's Church, Clara, arriving at 7pm. Funeral Mass on Wednesday morning at 11am. Burial after Mass in the Monastery Cemetery, Clara.
