EXCITEMENT is building as Killavilla Drama Group are set to return to the stage this year with their 19th production,” Perfect Wedding” by Robin Hawdon.

Perfect Wedding is perhaps Robin Hawdon’s most popular play, with several hundred productions worldwide. The show will run from Wednesday March 20th to Saturday March 23rd. Once again, it is sure to have the audience doubled over!

"Perfect Wedding" is a fast-paced comedy filled with witty dialogue, slapstick humour, and clever plot twists, making it an entertaining exploration of the chaos that ensues when things don't go according to plan on one's big day!

A Synopsis

A ‘perfect wedding’ day goes disastrously wrong, causing chaos to all concerned. It all begins when a bridegroom wakes on his wedding morning in his own bridal suite, with his bride-to-be about to arrive any moment, and finds he has been left with a whole lot more than just a hangover from the stag night the night before!

By the time the bride, best man, bride’s parents and half the hotel staff get in on the antics from the previous night, the chaos reaches nuclear proportions. It is that rare combination – a riotous comedy and a touching love story at the same time.

The Cast

The cast who are seasoned actors and have appeared in many of the group's productions over the years include Breda Delaney, Ronan Foyle, James Shanahan, Sinead Browne, and Marion Grannell. This year we also welcome our newest cast member Elaine Wallace who has taken to the stage with ease and natural flair.

Once again, we are delighted to benefit from the expertise and skill of our Director Paul Spencer. Paul is not only a very talented director but has won numerous awards for his own acting ability.

A Team Effort

Staging a play requires a huge community input. While the actors take centre stage, a large backstage crew supports the cast and ensures your safety and comfort throughout the performance. Killavilla Drama group are always looking for members. We need experienced people and people who are willing to give acting a try as well as people to help with sound and lighting and back stage crew to help with sets.

This is the 19th production of the drama group and huge credit goes to the various members of the community who have kept it going over the years.
