Tributes have been paid in recent days after the unexpected death of Rhode man Alan Kilmurray.

Alan is predeceased by his daughter Zoe and his parents Barney and Carmel.

His RIP.ie notice says he is "deeply regretted and sadly missed by his loving family: wife Suzanne, children Rebecca, Adam and Owen, sister Carol, brothers Michael, John and Noel, parents-in-law Ronnie and Louie Pearson, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, work colleagues and a large circle of friends."

A number of locals and friends have been paying tribute. One read: "Thinking of you all, rest in peace Alan. You will be sadly missed by so many, you never failed to make us laugh."

Another said: "Shocked to hear of the sudden passing of Alan. Always a great story and good laugh to and from work. May he rest in piece. Condolences to Adam and extended family at this sad time."

A third added: "My sincere condolences to Suzanne, Rebecca, Adam, Owen, the Kilmurry & Pearson family and to all of Alan's friends. You are all in our prayers at this very sad time. Many great memories as a young lad when he was cutting silage and pints at the weekend."

Funeral details will be published on RIP.ie. May Alan rest in peace.
