Roscrea Community Choir members and their guest artists are stepping up rehearsals for the 'Summer Serenade' concert on May 25 in the Abbey Hall at 8pm.
Joining them as guest artists will be the Cistercian College Roscrea singers, the Midland String Quartet, oboist Ruby Ashley (in a change from the advertised artist Etain McCooey) and the musicians and singers from Gaelscoil Shlí Dála.
All have been diligently rehearsing for what promises to be a beautiful summer might of music and song.
The Community Choir will feature some beautiful songs including Abba hits 'The Prayer' and 'Something inside so strong' to name but a few.
The Midland String Quartet are delighted to be performing with the Community choir again this year. They debuted with the choir at the Christmas concert 2023 performing as accompaniment for the choir, as well as playing some music written specifically for Quartet.
They are delighted to be performing that Morricone classic 'Gabriel's Oboe' with internationally renowned professor of oboe at the RIAM, Ms.Ruby Ashley, also performing other solos that they will play and a beautiful movement from a haunting oboe concerto.
The Quartet will also perform a selection of classical and modern pieces written for String Quartet.
Direct from their award-winning performance in the All-Ireland Féile Scoil Drámaíochta, the talented pupils representing all classes in Gaelscoil Shlí Dála will entertain us through their selection of songs and music.
So come along, get your tickets and sit back and enjoy a wonderful musical night's entertainment on Saturday, May 25,
