RTE's replacement for Late Late Show this Friday night bound to divide opinion
The first season of the RTE Late Late Show hosted by Patrick Kielty came to an end last Friday, meaning fans of the chat show will have to find something else to watch this Friday night.
Kielty took over as host of the show last year after the sudden departure of Ryan Tubridy and his first 30 episodes received largely positive reviews. He will be back on our screens at the helm for another season in September but until then the RTE schedule is getting a shake-up.
This Friday night, the Late Late has been replaced by Mrs Brown's Boys D'Movie starring Brendan O'Carroll. The TV listing for the film says: "The indomitable Irish matriarch fights to defend Dublin's famous street market from being sold off to developers. Comedy, starring Brendan O'Carroll and Jennifer Gibney."
Mrs Brown's Boys is TV marmite as it divides viewers into those that love the laugh-along comedy, while others meet it with stinging reviews.
Meanwhile on RTE 2 on Friday night, viewers can tune in to the League of Ireland clash between Sligo Rovers and Bohemians before Hope Gap, a film drama starring Bill Nighy at 10pm.
The TV listing for the movie says: "A woman's world comes crashing down when her husband of 29 years tells her he's leaving her for another woman. Drama, starring Annette Bening and Bill Nighy."
