Offaly's famous Queen of the Land Festival has been cancelled for 2024 with organisers confirming the news in a statement.
They said: "It is with a heavy heart we announce the cancellation of this year's festival. We will be back next year for the 60th year celebrations."
Expanding on the reasoning for the cancellation, a statement from the committee said: "Due to circumstances outside of the control of the Queen of the Land, the committee regrets to announce that we will not be holding a festival in 2024.
"The committee explored every avenue possible to host the 60th Queen of the Land festival but sadly we were unsuccessful in our efforts.
"It is unfortunate that we share this new with you and can assure you we did not make this decision lightly."
The statement went on to say: "We would like to acknowledge and thank the 2023 Queen of the Land Sarah Baker for being a great ambassador for the festival and for being a fine role model for aspiring Macra members across the country.

"It is important we thank our sponsors, in particular J. Grennan & Sons for their unwavering support for the festival. While we may not be holding a festival this year, we hope to welcome you all to Offaly in 2025."
