PLAYER RATINGS: How the Offaly U20 heroes fared in their historic All Ireland win over Tipperary

Leigh Kavanagh - Leigh Kavanagh didn't score and barely had a shooting opportunity, yet he was one of the Offaly heroes. He played very well in an almost understated way. Like his twin Brecon, he had a great ability to make flicks and hooks that count so much in high intensity, tight games. One of his best led to Dan Bourke's all important goal as Tipp were moving the ball out of defence but were left stunned when Kavanagh got in the flick and Bourke raced through with only one thing on his mind. Considering he didn't score or look like scoring, his rating may seem high but it was his best game of the year and he typified so much of what is so good about this Offaly team. Rating – 8.
