IN PICTURES: The national school team that provided eight U-20 All Ireland winners for Offaly

The massive dividend being reaped by work being put in by coaches and schools is illustrated by this Cuman na mBuncsoil team from Kilcormac schools which featured eight players that would go on to win Leinster and All-Ireland U20 medals.

Killeigh NS principal Damien White noted that seven years ago, the Killoughey Schools team won the Offaly Cumann na mBunscól Division 1 schools hurling championship.
A total of 8 of them have gone on to win the Leinster U20 championship, most of them for the 2nd time, and now the ultimate prize, the All-Ireland title. Their Co-manager , Shane Hand is now their senior club manager with Kilcormac-Killoughey.
Mr White noted that Colin Spain, James Mahon, Alex, Brecon and Leigh Kavanagh, Adam Screeney, Daniel Hand and Richie Bracken all played in the final against Birr.
Another All-Ireland winner, Ben Miller played for Birr against them in the final.
