Gardaí in Offaly are investigating a burglary which took place last weekend.

The burglary occurred at Cappincur, Tullamore at some time between 10.30pm on Saturday night and lunchtime on Sunday, July 21.

Gardaí believe two burglars broke into the house at Cappincur on the main road between Tullamore and Ballinagar. An accomplice, who was driving a dark coloured a car, is thought to have brought the burglars to the location and taken them from the scene afterwards.

Through Cappincur Community Alert, Gardaí have appealed to anyone who noticed anything suspicious to contact Tullamore Garda Station on 057 93 27600.

Last month a man was arrested after a property was burgled on the main road between Tullamore and Cappincur. That incident happened on Saturday, June 8 while an annual cemetery mass was taking place. The man was arrested following a search involving a garda helicopter.

The man was subsequently jailed but it's believed an accomplice escaped on that occasion.
