IN PICTURES: Hurling heroes and other sports stars take to the field in aid of cancer research in Carlow

Hurling stars Kyle Hayes, Ryan Taylor and Liam Griffin played to raise funds for the Irish Cancer Society

Hurling stars from Offaly joined a host of other big name hurlers from around the country and other sports stars in Carlow to raise funds for cancer research on Monday night. They all laced up their boots for Cancer Research, an annual hurling charity event which raises funds for cancer research.

Hurling heroes competed in Carlow to raise funds for cancer research this Monday.

Kyle Hayes, Liam Griffin and Ryan Taylor were among the GAA stars who laced up their boots for Cancer Research, an annual hurling charity event which raises funds for cancer research.

The big match took place on Monday, August 12 at 7pm in Netwatch Cullen Park in Carlow. 

Among those participating as commentators and side-line officials were John Kiely, Mark Landers and Paul Townend.

This year and for the first time, the event was broadcasted on TG4 to help with the donations.
