RHSI Bellefield House and Gardens.
NEW for 2024 are the stunning gardens of RHSI Bellefield, Birr, Co Offaly with open days planned for September 21st and 22nd.
The renowned architect and garden designer Angela Jupe, who died in 2021, left her house and gardens at Bellefield to the RHSI (Royal Horticultural Society of Ireland). As well as a house and cottages, the grounds include a 2-acre walled garden with a noted collection of perennial plants and rare bulbs, a woodland garden, pasture, and a plantation of native trees, all managed for biodiversity.
The weekend includes guided tours of the gardens with head gardener Paul Smyth at 12pm and 2pm, tea and cakes, plant sales and book sales plus the sale of some small excess household items. Entrance tickets are free to RHSI members and €8 for non-members.
