'One of life’s true gentlemen' - Tributes paid following the death of Eugene Hoey
Tributes have been pouring in following the death of Offaly man Eugene Hoey.
Eugene was from Ballycommon, Tullamore, Offaly.
His RIP.ie notice reads: "Eugene passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family."
It says: "Eugene will be sadly missed by his brother Billy, sisters Anne, Rose, Frankie, Winnie, Theresa & Elaine, daughter-in-law Mary, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours & friends."
Tributes to Eugene have been pouring in from all over Offaly, with Tom & Gerry's Bar in Ballinagar paying tribute to the GAA man by lighting the bar in blue.
One person said: "Deepest condolences to Maureen and all the Hoey Family on the passing of Eugene. May he rest in peace."
Another added: "We're so sorry to hear of the very sad passing of Eugene. He was always very friendly and great for a chat. He always worked hard making a success of his bus business."
Funeral Arrangements:
Eugene's funeral mass was celebrated at 11am on Monday in Saint Francis' Church, Ballycommon, with burial afterwards in the adjoining graveyard.
