BIRR k-1 kickboxing had three fighters on a WKO sanctioned fight card called Rumble in the Tower at the Tower Hotel in Waterford recently. 15 bouts of top class kickboxing including a WKO cadet full contact title were on the line.
Cormac Machine Creamer was up first and debuting in his first low kick kickboxing style bout again Ciaran Toumey from Meath, fighting from O'Neil fitness.
it a classic back and forth fight that required stamina and heart. Cormac outworked and outsmarted his opponent in a tough competitive bout to win all three rounds by a unanimous decision.
Filipe Bang Bang Nunes was up next in another low kick kickboxing style bout. His opponent Sean Roche, representing the renowned Top Pro Carlow gym was 2+ years older than Filipe. This was another great fight and had the crowd up on their feet in a rip roaring contest. The fighters couldn't be separated over three tough rounds of great kickboxing and the fight was declared a draw.
Expect big things from these fighters going forward, especially Filipe Bang Bang Nunes.
Ross Bull Buckley was up next against former WKO full contact kickboxing champion Kacper Pacyk, representing the Kombat Kingdom gym from Kilkenny. This was a K-1 style kickboxing bout.
Ross had a game plan and executed it perfectly and dominated his opponent from start to finish over the course of three great rounds of kickboxing. Ross won a one sided contest to go 4-0 in kickboxing under the Birr club.
Congratulations to all the fighters and to their assistant coaches Michael Hansbury, Conor O'Brien, hand wrapper Kayleigh Murphy. All played a big part in their success. Birr had over 30 supporters coming to support, which was a massive help to the fighters and very much appreciated.
