ADRIAN O'Donoghue will make history as the first fighter representing the Birr k-1 kickboxing club to fight in a five round world unification title fight at -50kg for another K-1 kickboxing world title on October 6th in England.
The group fly into Birmingham airport early on October 5th and will have to make weight by 3pm that same day, Saturday, and rehydrate recover and rest for the big fight the following day, Sunday.
This teenager who turned 15 years of age in August started training with Raphael Creamer just over two years ago and has fully committed his life to kickboxing and the reward is what everyone dreams of, winning fights and All Ireland titles and going to the world championships and dominating and coming home with the world title.
This young fighter, who hails from Roscrea and travels over every week to train with the Birr Club, is a pleasure to coach and is as dedicated as he is talented.
Adrian has built up a fantastic kickboxing record of 9-1 on the Irish circuit including WKO All Ireland light contact champion.
They travelled to Barnsley in England and won the K-1 Kickboxing World championships in August of this year.
Adrian's performances were so dominant, along with the rest of his Birr teammates, that a couple of top promoters were enquiring about Birr k-1 kickboxing club.
This fight comes off the back of their performances at the WKO World Championships.
His opponent Teylor Bowen is current ISKA British champion and he won the World K-1 ISKA title in July and is a undefeated world class opponent and is very highly regarded in England and is expected to turn professional at 18 years of age.
This fight was taken at short notice - 15 days - and they're very excited to get this huge opportunity.
They are hoping to do maximum damage and will try their best to win this title.
This fight is promotioned by Jackhammer _UK. and will be broadcast on leapfrogfighttv to a massive audience.
