It will be 1994 again in Edenderry in late October as a special event has been organised marking 30 years since the county's hurlers famous win in the All-Ireland Hurling final of that year.

Remembered as the five-minute final when Offaly, inspired by Johnny Dooley, scored 2-5 without reply in the final five points to wipe out Limerick's lead and win by six points. It was a Faithful day for sure and sparked wild celebrations all over the county and beyond.

To recapture that feeling, Eden Entertainment has organised a "bringing back the craic" event which will let locals relive that final on the pub TVs in Byrne's Bar and Lounge as well as reliving all things 1990s.

It was an era Offaly flourished with another All-Ireland win in 1998 and the event in Byrne's on October 26 will bring it all back - for one day and night only.

A poster for the event is being shared locally and as well as the match being screened on the big screens from 5pm, it also promises an "almighty music session and sing along" and an "80s/90s disco."

Local performers who would have been belting out tunes in Byrne's all those years ago will be back to sing their favourites, a session sure to delight punters. We're sure the Offaly Rover will get a good airing too after the final whistle blows in Croke Park as if it was live on the day!

The event is free and gets underway with the match at 5pm on Saturday, October 26.
