Age Friendly Roscrea, based in the former Courthouse on Gaol Road, have several groups and events open to you join.
Our next Rambling House is on Wednesday 6th November at 7pm. Join us for music, songs and storytelling. All are welcome. This is a free event but we welcome donations towards refreshments, light and heat.
We are working with Family Carer’s Ireland to offer support to carers who work hard caring for family members or friends, maybe, having no time to themselves or having no information on what supports are there for them in the community. Fiona Hartigan will be here for the Caring with Confidence training every Wednesday at 11am for November with a guest speaker each week. She will also be here on Friday 8th November for our monthly Carers Support Group meeting at 10.30am. Please feel free to drop into either session.
Our regular clubs are back again this week – craft on Mondays 2pm -4pm, Ukulele on Wednesdays 11am and 12pm, Chair Yoga on Wednesday at 2pm and Rosie Greys at 3.15pm, Thursdays for Art classes and Friday mornings we have digital skills at 10.30am and Friday Club at 2pm -4pm. Our book club meets on the last Thursday of the month at 3pm. The book for November is The Snapper by Roddy Doyle, a great read!
Our Courthouse Café meets on the fourth Wednesday of each month at 11am. It’s a space for people living with memory loss and their friends and carers to meet. All are welcome.
We process applications for the Senior Alert Scheme alarm service which offers peace of mind to people, knowing that there is a “real person” at the end of the phone line if you need to press the alarm button for whatever reason – a fall, fear of intruder, feeling ill or something wrong in your home. Make sure you wear your alarm at all times in the vicinity of your home!!
We have our Meals on Wheels service running also. Enquire at the office if you are interested.
Contact the office at (0505) 22550 or (089) 4682164 if you have any queries about our services.
