ICA National President, Mary D’Arcy, accepted the invitation from Clonakenny Guild to attend their October meeting in Lismackin Community centre.
This was a huge honour for the Guild and their President Joan Byrne welcomed Mary, who was elected to the three-year term earlier this year.

Mary addressed the meeting and outlined to the members details of how ICA is re-establishing itself following some upheaval in recent years and told the members that ICA still has a very important role to play in rural Ireland and has a wide range of programmes that members can participate in.
he guild made a presentation to Mary to mark the occasion.
Clonakenny guild is very active and has members from Roscrea area and meets on the first Wednesday and are always interested in having new members join guild – which has been active now for over 70 years – and encourage any age group to come along and participate.
