Roscrea will host the Tipperary Jobs Fair later this month.
North Tipperary Development Company (NTDC) are proud to be hosting a Jobs and Career Fair in Roscrea on Wednesday 27th November.
The event will be held in the Black Mills, Church Street, Townparks, Roscrea from 10am to 2pm, and will showcase employment opportunities in Roscrea and surrounding areas.
The event will also offer job seekers advice and guidance with CV’s, job seeking skills, interview skills and will feature presentations from job coaches and professionals in the areas of enterprise, education and training.
There will be up to 25 stands on the day offering different employment, career, and training progression routes and it is hoped that the event will lead to new opportunities for employment in the communities of Tipperary and surrounding counties.
In highlighting this event, organiser Kevin Burrows Enterprise and Employment Officer with NTDC said: “We are delighted that The OPW have given us permission to use the magnificent surrounding of the Black Mills to host this event, and we have partnered with Tipperary Education Training Board, County Tipperary Chamber / Roscrea Chamber and local DSP Intreo Offices to bring a wide range of professional information and advice into one place for job seekers to access”.
NTDC CEO Michael Murray said: “As part of our core work under the SICAP programme, we assist members of the community access employment supports through training, work readiness and career support actions and by working closely with our collaboration partners, enabling us to bring a joined-up approach to this area of our work”.
Michael also took the opportunity to “thank the funding agencies and their staff teams, who support NTDC’s employment and enterprise work, especially DSP, Tipperary Education & Training Board, Tipperary County Council, members of the Tipperary LCDC, Tipperary Chamber and the Department Rural & Community Development and other services to ensure employment support resources are available to all.
Claire Treacy, the Employer Relations Officer for the Department of Social Protection in Tipperary said “the DSP are delighted to partner with the staging of the event” and said this was reflected in the number of employers already signed up to attend”.
“Employers from employment sectors including the production, healthcare, childcare and hospitality sectors demonstrates the wide spread of employment opportunities available for job seekers in the area”.
