CLLR Audrey Hennessey Kennedy was appointed as the new Cathaoirleach of Offaly County Council at the December meeting, due to the vacancy left after Cllr Tony McCormack’s election to Dáil Éireann in the general election. This prestigious role is a moment of great honour and pride for Cllr Hennessy Kennedy and her family.
“Taking on the role of Cathaoirleach, is both a remarkable honour and a significant responsibility, one that I am well prepared to embrace with dedication, integrity and vision,” she said.
Speaking on her appointment, Councillor Kennedy expressed heartfelt gratitude for the trust placed in her.
"It is a honour to serve as Cathaoirleach of Offaly County Council. I am deeply grateful for the support of my colleagues and the community. This role brings great responsibility, and I am committed to working hard to support the growth and well-being of our county. I also want to thank my family for their support, and to everyone who helped me along the way".
