How the Offaly Senior footballers can gain promotion this weekend

The Offaly Senior Footballers host Kildare this Sunday in O'Connor Park in a game that sees the top two sides in Division 3 go head to head.

Offaly and Kildare are on top of the table on eight points apiece but it is very close behind them with Laois and Clare on six points and Fermanagh on five.

Offaly can seal promotion this weekend but they need another result to go their way first if they are to secure a position in the top two in the table.

Laois and Clare face off on Saturday night in O Moore Park and a draw in that game would leave Offaly in a position to secure promotion on Sunday when they take to the field.

If Laois and Clare draw, Offaly will take to the field in O'Connor Park against Kildare at 2pm on Sunday knowing a win would guarantee promotion to Division 2 next year. The same will also go for Kildare if Laois and Clare do draw.
