Participants at the basketball blitz in Tullamore College.

As part of Women in Sport Week, Tullamore College proudly hosted the annual Offaly Sports Partnership 3v3 Basketball Blitz in collaboration with Tullamore Sacred Heart School recently. The event brought together 24 teams, showcasing fantastic basketball talent while promoting teamwork and participation in sport.

A special shout-out goes to the Tullamore College TY Girls Squad, whose hard work and dedication ensured the event ran smoothly. From refereeing and coaching to scorekeeping and managing fixtures, they played an essential role in the day's success.

A huge thank you to Offaly Sports Partnership for their continued support. Denise from the partnership presented T-shirts to all participants and awarded hats to the winning teams, a gesture greatly appreciated by both players and organisers.

This event was a fantastic way to celebrate women’s participation in sport, highlighting the importance of inclusivity, teamwork, and athletic excellence. Well done to Ms Karen Brady and Ms Áine Seery for organising the event.
