Tributes have been paid following the sad death of popular Offaly man PJ Healion, late of Durrow, Tullamore.
PJ passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family in the tender care of the doctors and nurses of Tullamore Hospital on Tuesday, March 25, 2025. He is pre-deceased by his parents Joe and Ellen, his brothers Sean, Vinnie and his sister Bridie.
Much loved daddy to Evelyn and Ciara and adored by his cherished grandchildren Amelie and Callum.
Fondly remembered and sadly missed by his brothers Noel, Josie, Liam and sisters Mary (Mulligan) and Betty (Daly), sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and a wide circle of friends.
"PJ's character, wit, kindness and spirit touched lives of all who knew him. His memory will live in the countless hearts he impacted throughout his life."
Heartfelt condolences have been left on RIP.ie, from those who knew and fondly remembered PJ, with one mourner writing,
"So very sad to hear of PJs passing a lovely man a great character. Fond memories of PJ when i used to babysit year's ago God rest your gentle soul PJ Rest in peace."
Another wrote,
"My deepest condolences to Evelyn and Ciara, and the Healion family on the loss of your dad PJ, he was a wonderful kind man, thoughts and prayers at this sad time."
While a close friend wrote,
"Evelyn, Ciara, Amelie, Callum and the Healion family, My deepest sympathy on the passing of your beloved dad and grandad PJ, he was a cherished friend and a true gentleman who will be sadly missed. May he rest in peace. Your broken hearted friend."
Funeral Arrangements
PJ will repose in Lawless' Funeral Home, Mucklagh Village (R35 C5P6) on Friday evening, March 28, from 5pm to 7pm.
A celebration of his life will take place on Saturday, March 29, at 11am in St. Colmans Church Mucklagh (R35 VO45), followed by burial in the adjoining Cemetery.
