In less than two weeks time, on April 13th, a young Roscrea woman will run her very first marathon through the streets of the French capital, Paris.
Born near Mountheaton, Shauna is regularly seen pounding the roads over the last few months as she prepares for her big day.
A member of Ballyskenagh Athletic Club, Shauna has steadily built up her running distances. Having already completed 5K, 10K and half marathons, it was always Shauna’s goal to one day realise her dream of running a full marathon.
She also made the unselfish decision to raise money for a local charity and Roscrea Hospice Fundraising Committee are delighted that she chose their very worthy cause.

It is Shauna’s wish that all money she raises will be spent on Hospice services within the Roscrea area.
With the recent purchase of a house in Roscrea by North Tipperary Hospice, the amount raised by Shauna will be extremely useful.
