Young man fined €500 for speeding in 50kph zone in Tullamore
A fine of €500 was imposed on a man who exceeded the speed limit.
In his evidence to last week's district court, Sergeant Richard Thornton said he was operating a speed check on the Clara Road on September 1, 2024 which is a built up area.
He detected Michael Jason Cawley (20) of 50, Puttaghan Close, Tullamore, travelling at speeds of 83k in a 50k zone.
Judge Andrew Cody noted that this was Mr Cawley's fourth offence in four years.
