THE annual Esker Hills Golf Club to Augusta competitions will take place once again this week.
There are three days of competition on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, April 11, 12 and 13. The competitions were first organised several years ago to co-incide with the first appearance of Esker Hills' most famous son, Shane Lowry in the US Masters and have become a very popular part of the golfing calendar since then – with yearly visitors from throughout Ireland and further afield.
Golfers are paired with a professional in Augusta and their combined scores determine the winners – a novel format that adds to the attraction of the singles competitions.
There are a great array of prizes and catering is available each day. The entry fee is €30 per person and bookings can be made on 057 9355999 or 086 3423662.
