Offaly Golf Club stages annual Augusta competitions

THE annual Esker Hills Golf Club to Augusta competitions took place last week. Held to co-incide with the US Masters in Augusta, the competitions have been very popular since first being held several years ago when Esker Hills' most famous son, Shane Lowry first appeared there.

The format also works well with singles competitions taking place but golfers paired with a professional in Augusta and their combined scores counting. The fine Spring weather was a help and there was a great turnout over the three days with plenty of return and new visitors enjoying the testing course.
