Offaly motor racing star Alex Dunne was on the F2 podium again on Saturday as he jumped to the top of F2 World Championship standings.
In the Sprint Race on Saturday in Saudi Arabia, the Offaly driver added to his Feature Race win in Bahrain with a third place finish.
Dunne, a McLaren Junior driver, started fifth on the grid in his distinctive papaya coloured car but he lost a place off the start to finish the first lap in sixth.
From there he drove a controlled race until lap when he pulled off an incredible manouevure overtaking two cars at the one time into the first corner. Wirth DRS open, Alex Dunne dived up the inside to overtake Gabriele Mini and Roman Stanek to move him up to fourth.

A late safety car condensed the field but the Offaly man kept his place on the restart and pushed for a place on the podium.
Late in the race, leader Richard Verschoor was handed a five second penalty for forcing another driver off the track and with Alex Dunne only three seconds adrfit of the leader, he was promoted to third place.
That result means that Alex Dunne, who came into the weekend in second place in the Championship, is now joint leader alongside Josep Marti.
The F2 Feature Race in Saudi Arabia takes place on Sunday and will be lie on Sky Sports F1 at 2.20pm
